Insecurity numbers in Mexico

According to the results of the 31st National Survey over Urban Public Security (ENSU), carried out by the INEGI in the first two weeks of June, 2021, during that month 66.6 percent of the population of age 18 and older considered their city was unsafe to live in.

The cities with greater percentages of people of age 18 and older that considered their city unsafe to live in are: Fresnillo, Cancun, Ecatepec de Morelos, Coatzacoalcos, Naucalpan de Juarez and Tonala, with 96.2, 88.7, 87.7, 86.9, 86.7 and 86.1%, respectively.

On the other hand, the cities with the lowest perception of insecurity were: San Pedro Garza Garcia, Tampico, Los Cabos2, San Nicolas de los Garza, Merida and Piedras Negras, with 7.1, 24.4, 25.4, 25.9, 26.3 & 28.8%, respectively.
